Industrial Evaporated Granulated Salt is 99.8% sodium chloride, and contains virtually no insolubles. From its use in oilfield applications, textile processing and hide curing, to leather tanning, pulp and paper processing and brine making, salt is commonly used for a wide variety of processes. For example, oilfield salts or drilling salts may be used as weighting agents in drilling fluids, and in workover and completion fluids. In leather tanning, salt can absorb the liquid contained in the leather, to balance moisture and salinity, and has antibacterial properties. In textile processing, salt is used as an electrolyte for migration, adsorption, and fixation of dye to the textile. These and so many more uses make salt an effective and indispensable mineral in industrial applications.
